WHAT'S YOUR WHY? PART 4 ENERGY EXERCISE

On our journey to define our purpose, we have explored what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. This forms the core of our exercise and will help inform our remaining activities. This week, let’s begin to identify what brings us energy and what takes away from our energy. Our why and purpose is often connected to the activities we find meaningful and energizing.

Activity

  1. List your top energy giving activities / engagements.

  2. List your most draining activities / engagements.

  3. Review your list. What do you notice about your energy patterns?

    • Can you identify a common theme among the activities / engagements that energize or drain you?

  4. What relatively simple changes can you make to improve your flow of energy?

Take some time throughout this week to slow down and continue to add to your list. In the end, we want to determine how we can best maintain our energy and direct it towards our goals. Next week, we will begin to define our purpose using what we have learned so far. If you find that you need to revisit previous activities because you have had a moment of clarity, do it!
